My husband fell 30' from a forklift. When he landed he was pinned underneath the cart and his co-workers had to pull him out. can't convince him to go to the doctor because he is afraid he will get fired for not having his harness on. Everyone was working without them when he fell, including the supervisor. It wasn't until after the fall did the supervisor tell everyone to get them on. No on offered to take him to the doctor or filled out an accident report. They just let him drive himself home. How can I convince him to go to the doctor? I understand that what he did was stupid but I am concern he might be really injured.

Have him see a doctor. If the injury (incident) isn't reported and later he finds a problem caused by the fall it will probably put him out of work anyway. They will probably not support him later if there isn't a paper trail. Apparently they don't care or they would have had him checked out.

He needs to see a doctor if he is afraid of getting in trouble at work than he can choose to bill his ins company and not workers comp but I think if I worked there and it was not safe things need to change but he should go he would not lose his job either way worst thing that would happen probably is a write up but than everyone around that day should get a write up along with the supervisor that did not fill out an injury report or have him immeadiatly transported to the ER If anyone deserves to be fired its the supervisor.

If your husband goes to the doctor, he doesn't have to report the injury as a work accident - he could choose to cover the incident as a personal injury. This way, he can get all the treatment that is needed and he doesn't have to worry about his company. Convince him that seeing the doctor won't cause him to get fired.

I think you should sit him down and explain to him about your fears and concerns and let him make the choice to go or not. Good luck!
