So yes I'm not famous and luckily my myspace is unaccessable and I don't put email adresses down or anything, I just hope certain people don't read everything.... I have to say Yahoo is worse at it than google, it has all the chapters to my stories listed

As soon as you put any information about youself on the internet you are basically searchable. You tube, myspace, facebook are public domains and searchable by everyone. Thats why. If you register for anything your informations is stored. If you have an email address your information is stored.
Basically you put the information in there with profile and is yo ugo back and read the small print you will find that you agreed to this being public information. Thats why they advise that you dont put phone numbers or contact info in your profiles.

Search Engines like Google and Yahoo send "bots" into cyberspace to find pages. These pages are then indexed and references to them are stored at the Search Engine home.

So if you search for your name, every page that has your name will show up in the search results.

However, you can take relief in the fact that the only person who is likely to search for your name is you. The vast majority of surfers will never type your name in the search box.

Thank Google and other webcrawler spiders for that. When you join any web site that's indexed with many search engines; the spiders crawl your text and bind it to the engine database which is why you come up.

Same thing with me, I also wondered until I learned about site indexing and webcrawling.
