Unless you are taking your niece or nephew or your own child trick or treating then you are out of place going door to door and should not be doing that by yourself. Remember that you're a grown up now and you don't need people to give you candy, you can earn it yourself. Adults (that's when you reach the age of 18) generally have parties for adults only where they don't go door to door but they have games like bob for an apple or they have prizes for best costumes, people try to guess who each other is and there's food and dancing, but it's all adults and is usually held at the home of one of their friends or a place has been rented for such a purpose. Yes, the south appears to be the "bible belt" and I'm there too. Usually the church itself is against Halloween because it has to do with belief in the dead rising and frightening people and that's a pagan holiday.

My daughter is 20 months old and will be going out to a couple of neighbor houses for halloween, but only to friends. She doesn't get the concept so I believe she's too young. I remember trick or treating at the age of 4.
14 is too old. The good thing in my neighborhood is that you can shut off the porch light and not have any more trick or treaters once the high school kids start coming around.

I think that the minimum is 4 + (if their is an adult with them) and the maximum should be 15-16

I do not think there should be a min or max! I think that if you refuse to give our candy for certain kids is Just Plain wrong! I have been going our since I was 12 mons old! I still enjoy it now and i am 13! I think you should go till you fell to old not any sooner and not when everyone else thinks either!

I gotta go with its the spirit of the holiday. As long as they are out there, dressed up and come to my door to say trick or treat (as opposed to those that egg houses or smash my pumpkin)--then I will give them candy.

Your never too old to enjoy trick or treating, but if yoiu feel as though you shouldn't, don't. When you get older, take your kids trick or treating, then you can still have fun!

Minimum, 3, maximum, 18. I find it so annoying when people are choosy with who they give candy to. Does it really matter if this person doesn't have a costume, or looks like they're a bit older, it's a holiday, a celebration, take the stick out.

whenever.. I mean my friends are 16 and 17 and they still go trick or treating.. :P
any age is fine.. youngest I'd say as soon as they can handle solid foods..and they don't necessarily have to eat the candy..
