My allergies and/or siuns have been giving me the blues. The doctor prescribed Zyrtec whihc I took prior to being pregnant. BUT the warning label says "The medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy". Now I'm considering just delaing with the allergies because that warning freaked me out.

Unlike a lot of the doctors around yahoo answers...my doctor said that no sinus meds are safe to use because they may cause pre-term labor. This is what I do to take care of my sinuses...(even helped me kick a sinus infection out during preg #2)

1. Rapid-release tylenol (or off-brand) as the regular tylenol didn't TOUCH my headaches.
2. Saline nose spray- just spray it up each nostril, wait a few seconds and literally blow the crap outta yer nose... LOL nasty, but very effective.
3. Drink plenty of water...I know it's said quite a bit, but it truely helps rid the body of unwanted mucous and gunk.

Also, some extra vitamin C couldn't hurt...good ol' OJ.

I have taken Zyrtec my entire pregnancy - my doctor gave me this in place of Allegra, because Allegra is Class C and Zyrtec is Class B - which is generally better during pregnancy. However, allergy relief has been clearly needed for me, as I got pregnant at the end of March, so it's been "allergy season" for me all along. (I am allergic to lots of things outdoors and in.)

Have you tried a neti pot? It just is a saline solution that you run through your nostrils - seems pretty disgusting but it really works. It helps clear up the mucus that is clogged up there and also rinses away some of the pollen that is causing the allergies. There is no actual medicine - just salt water, so shouldn't affect anything. You can get them at most drug stores now, and I just get refills for the salt at health food stores. Good luck!

Get a good air purifier. That way you will have allergy relief when you are home and at night. I was always afraid to take medicine when I was pregnant.

Eczema patients can avoid scratchy fibers for softer ones like bamboo, cotton, or silk, which are gentler on the skin. Opting to buy organic fibers can also be a wise, healthy, and eco-friendly alternative. Learn here https://tr.im/gUyeC

You could use Claritin, Actifed, Sudafed, or Tylenol Cold &Sinus. These are all on a list of safe medications that I got from my OBGYN.

My doctor said I could occasionally take Benedryl and Tylenol. However, don't take a thing without first asking YOUR doctor.

I use Claritin and have had no problems with it. It was recommended by my midwives. But check on that for sure with your own doctor.
