Medicare part B will only cover 80% of outpatient services. Look into getting "Medigap", ot Medicare Supplement insurance. You will also need Part D coverage for medications. Some Part B HMOs will cover medicines, some not.
Be wary of Medicare HMOs. They're great as long you remain well, but notoriously bad if you get sick. I've seen patients be denied their rights under Medicare (which is what pays for the HMOs), such as being denied ongoing rehabilitation services for speech, physical, and occupational therapies, particularly in a nursing home or for home health.
You can also look into Medicaid for your Medigap and Part D coverage, but you need to qualify based on your assets.

Can't say right off hand I suggest you make a phone call to the ss or stop by and see them, get it right the first time around. I am coming upon the same decision you are at soon, and I am still researching, I have some insurance and they say I don't need it but I'm not just going to take their word for it.
