I'm 14 weeks with my 2nd and shocked at how much all my bones and joints hurt this time around since my 1st pregnancy was so easy. I remember having a hard time sleeping because of my hips hurting with my 1st. I tried using pillows and things to help. I guess I got through it. Maybe you can take a Tylenol for when it's really bad although I personally try not to take anything unless I really, really need it. Good luck!

Its because your hips are preparing for birth. I have heard that doing some squats every day will help but I dont know for sure as I am only 25 weeks. But it might. My husband rubs my hips every night and that seems to help with the little discomfort I feel. Also, the doctor told me that after #1 things weaken, such as your "birth" muscles maybe thats just part of it.

I am 36 weeks and have had the same problem. The only relief I get comes from Tylenol & a warm bath. The pain is the worst in the morning when I wake up; even my fingers are cramped up when I awake. I purchased a Homedics shiatsu massager that seems to help but sometimes I am in so much pain that it hurts to use it.
Sorry to hear you are in pain as well. Good luck.

I'm only 16 weeks with #4 and I have that problem!! I think that after having more than one your pelvic area loosens up more than with the first. My only relief comes from my exercise ball!! There are times during the day that it's uncomfortable to lay down or sit in a normal chair or sofa so I just sit on the ball for a while, it works wonders! Invest in one, it is worth the money and helps even more when you're in labor!

For me, it's my ribs! My doctor says its the baby forcing them to spread from the inside. IT'S SO PAINFUL! Around the 25 week mark my hips were killing me, I had a small frame and when my hips started spreading, that killed! AND right now this baby is literally kicking the crap out of me.... ouch!

I'm only about 24 weeks, but mine hurt while sleeping. I hate having to sleep on my side...and pillows between the legs only help so much.
