How long until we see ads on tv shwowing children who have benfited from the SCHIP program and the number of 35 billion that Bush felt was too expensive, followed by pictures of bombs going off in Iraq and Bush's request for 46 billion for the war. I know if I was a Dem strategist, I would be showing those ads today.

You say this as if it were a bad thing.

I hope that this will be a clean campaign that sticks more to what the candidates will do instead of running a smear campaign against their opponent.

Me too, but since the plan all along has been to show Republicans as being pro-war and anti-children I believe the Dems think that point has been made. Now they'll negotiate a bill somewhere between the $5 Billion and $35 Billion and then let the voters know that Democrats don't give up when it comes to the care of our children. They are by no means through with this issue. Concessions will be made on matters that had little to do with the success or failure of the bill anyway but will be used by the Republicans to save face. Another day in politics, that's all it is.

As usual... Zardoz and his fellow uber-liberals concur with a false statement just because they don't know any better... and believe the left's propaganda.
Here's a more accurate commercial:

Show the illegal alien taking the kid to the hospital. Show the hospital treating the kid. Show the illegal alien telling the hospital to have SCHIP pay for the treatment. Show the hospital processing the payment and then pan back to the illegal immigrant who looks at the camera and says:
"Thank you, Democratic Party, for fixing it so that I can stay here illegally, pay no taxes, provide employers with cheap labour...and get my children's healthcare all paid for by the American people. God Bless America!"

I give credit to the Dims for their propaganda victory on this SCHIPS nonsense. Of course Bush is right that the bill would put middle class people who don't need the program on the public dole, but who cares about right and wrong when it comes to politics? Certainly not the Dims, who want to give amnesty to millions of illegal with the so-called, "Dream Act."

Who says that only Repubs are skilled at political propaganda? Not me, dog!

This bill had a bunch of pork throwed into it by the democrats is the reason it was vetoed. A person making 80K a year should be able to afford insurance for their kids. Poor kids are already getting medicaid insurance. free lunches, vaccinations etc. No hospital that I know refuses anybody health care if needed.

No they are busy setting up campaign chairmen in public restrooms with gay cops tagging members of the Republican House & Senate. Now there is where your good campaign dollars go.
OR maybe reading the entire bill vs speculate on it / watching International events unfold each minute more volatile than the next?

How about a commercial showing the Newt Gingrich led Republican congress years ago creating the SCHIP program to provide coverage for low income children?

Then show a 25 year old driving a BMW and ask is this what you have in mind when you hear the term "low income poor child"?

Well, neither does the President. That is why he had to veto the bill....

That will be great. The hypocrisy of the Bush Administration is so easy to point out. It will be a wonderful election year.
