i'm sewing dead cheerleading costumes for 3 little girls the fabric i have is a pol. knit and thick with a little streach, what is a good setting for the tension while using a streachy fabric, i have a basic singer. there are two dials what should I set the #'s to (on both dials) so the fabric will not pull?

In your manual. look for stretch stitches. Usually that will be a zigzag stitch. For that material, I almost always just set everything on 2.

do some testing on scraps of the fabrics.
stretch the fabric as you are sewing it just a little bit.

mostly you will need to set stitch length on about 3 to 5 for best results.

Since fabrics vary so much, what I do is try sample stitches on several settings until I find the one that works best.
