I wouldn't call much of today's music "music." There is some talent, but many artists have so much electronic assistance that the music is lost.
I'd say the 60s were a great era for music. Rock and Roll had hit, Motown was alive and well, and music was brought the country together as Vietnam started.
Of course, we wouldn't have had the 60s music if we didn't have Elvis and the 1950s.
The 70s... ehhh, disco. Good beat, definitely had some positives, but not much overall.
The 80s... introducing technology to music. The videos that came with songs were extraordinary. They were so cutting edge for the time.
Bottom line... the music needs to stand on its own to be timeless. Do you really think people will be tuning into BSB or Britney in 25 years when those songs are on the "oldies" stations? It's like "I Love Lucy" - if it's good, it will last forever.

It's just different. Because it doesn't sound the same as whatever decade you grew up in, your generational tastes show. The older you get, the more you sound like your parents. I've listened through the 50's, 60's, 70's, 80's, 90's, and this decade. I have to chuckle every time I shake my head wondering what "this present generation is coming to" when I hear popular music. I WOULD like to hear what the 60's would have sounded like if they had the technology available today. Man!

i appreciate previous track, and that i'm a young person. New track sucks because of electronics. They use pcs, and stupid gadgets to make their track and they many times do not even write their own lyrics. 60's 70's and 80's were the a lengthy time period with distinct the great track, and that i appreciate pink Floyd, AC/DC, Aerosmith and all of them. i do not fairly like each and every new type of element. I agree i'm 14 and that i appreciate previous track, video clips, television shows and video games.

Today's rap music sucks behind. The songs they come up with today only proves that they are running out of things to rap about.
Chicken noodle soup
Read a book, even though i found this song funny
etc,,etc,,etc
Love the old rock, rap, and soul music better back in the day

I wish I was born in the 60's.
Anyways, this rap **** coming out now is WACK! I prefer the good ol days. Better Hip Hop, and if you want to go way back, there was those Oldies but Goodies.

It depends on what you mean by worse... Are you comparing the sounds, the words, the beats...
There's a lot to consider...
Personally I enjoy listening to todays music (not rap and pop, but more like rock and metal, alternative, some country) But we grew up listening to what we grew up listening too...
Chances are you will like the music you grew up with...
But you may not like the music you grew up with as much as todays, or other years
