Speakers worked fine until I installed google desktop. That caused my speakers to disconnect, can't reconnect

I am working on a friends computer and the speakers quit working more than a month ago. So, in this case going to a previous restore date wouldn't be appropriate. :-(

I did uninstall Google desktop and that didn't help. :-(

Go to system restore and revert back to a time your speakers were working.

Google Desktop messed up a number of things on my PC, so I uninstalled it.
