affected by the wildfires in California?

What is going on? This is the third question I know I answered earlier, and my answers aren't showing up.

I also tried to email Goldwing but there has been no response. My sister is in Brawley, about 2 hours south of San Diego. She said the wind is shifting and they'll get the heavy smoke soon. Her husband was trapped on the other side of the mountain yesterday. He drives the rigs that transport cars. The authorities wouldn't let anyone through until the wind shifted. And the firetrucks he was sent up there to get weren't available because they got confiscated to fight the fires. Pray for them all.

Remember that news organizations are trying to scare us into watching and increase ad revenue. If you watch CNN, you'd think Southern California was like the start of the Boston Marathon, where we're all running like lemmings to the sea.

Fewer than 500 homes (of over 5 million) are affected, with two deaths. Sure, that's sad and the air here has some smoke, but it ain't as bad as it looks.

In 48 hours, this will be forgotten, till five years from now when everything will burn again.

It's funny. I live about 50 miles from Malibu, 60 miles from Lake Arrowhead, 60 miles from Stevenson Ranch and 25 miles from Ontario. So, ash is everywhere in the air where I live, it's making it very difficult to breathe. It's like living in a giant sand storm only it doesn't hurt when the ash hits your face. The skies should be clear today but all I see is a thick layer of ash making the sun look eerie.

I have friends in the San Diego area but I understand they have not had to evacuate as of this morning.

I believe that "Goldwing" lives in California but not sure where. Hope he is OK.

I do need to call my girlfriend who lives in CA today. I received an email from my cousin who also is in CA, so she must be okay. She's a police officer and said that she has been very busy.

I have a friend who's family lives down there somewhere, not sure where but the fire topped the ridge opposite their home, yesterday. I haven't heard anything since.

Yes. My sister. And a friend's sister, who was indeed evacuated. My sister was lucky, and didn't have to evacuate, which was a great relief, since when the wind changed, it was 4 miles from her, headed toward her.

The doctor who delivered three of our four children may have lost his home to the fire.
