i spotted twice with it, but it was nothing, and i knew that was normal, but my period pretty much stopped as soon as i went on it.

today i woke up and there was a lot of blood and i even found a clot. im also kind of dizzy and have some slight cramping (very slight)

what does this mean? i know im not supposed to get a period with depo, so whats happening?

Its completely normal. Most women have pretty screwed up cycles on depo provera.

Some bleed for months, some have a regular period, and some spot at odd times of the month.

Check out those reviews and google "depo provera lawsuit" before getting your next shot.

I got my period at the end of each depo cycle. They were usually pretty normal.

However, I was on the shot for a year. I gained alot of weight, it changed my mood, caused lots of problems for me.

When I finally got off the shot I had a REALLY bad period, much like you are describing, that lasted for about 2 months. It was like my body was trying to catch up with itself and get rid of all the gunk it had stored up.

After that it took nearly a year for my periods to start regulating themselves.

I HIGHLY suggest you get off the shot, now, find some other means of birth control. Esp if you are having these sorts of complications, you need to consult your doc asap.

BTW, each woman on depo is different, some women have a continuous period, some none at all, some like me every 3 months, etc......so thinking that just because you are on the shot means you will not get your period is not accurate.
