Agrophobia--fear of open spaces--or in practice, fear of having a panic attack and fainting in a dangerous place. I worked with a woman, who finally figured out that she had forced herself into very dangerous work in microbiology. She had been trying to force herself back into the work--finally realized that she did NOT want to work there!! She was a brilliant person, and knew her father's work--reinforcement bars and construction. She taught that and was very happy and successful!! I believe that agraphobia protects a person from going against their own safety and comfort!!!
