Stephanie and HHH probably told scary stories to the staff and their morale was down for one night.
:D
In spite of this the situation with Orton and Kennedy backstage was interesting. DH Smith did an ok match too, Cody Rhodes & Hardcore Holly took a step forward, Santino made a few jokes, and Charlie Haas was surprisingly good! Ah, and Brooke of course was smooth and delicious like a yogurt with fruits in the bottom.
My conclusion is that something affected only the main eventers (including Hornwaggle and Candice). It could just be a private party which ended around 3am monday, and HBK was probably still drunk when he entered the arena at 9pm. Or, it could be related to Hornswaggle and the WWE not knowing what to do next with him. They might have talked about firing him in 2008 and that put everybody down. A lot of doubt was obviously in the air and not only in the eyes of Umaga.

With all the real-life drama being played out behind the scenes - talent being fired/contracts not being renewed to balance the books, house shows mostly being performed to empty seats, ratings flat, the company forced to flee overseas to draw any type of house - you are seeing people being stretched to the limit physically. It may get worse before it gets any better in the McMahon Family Playground.
For the gentleman below me - and I use the term very loosely - you really read as well as you type....pretty poorly. The company needs the overseas markets more than ever financially due to the problems I have cited in its core North American marketplace. These have ceased to be quick tours to market the product (like NFL or NBA exhibition games, for example), but are necessary for the fiscal health of the company.

It's obvious exhaustion.
Even HBK was off, and he usually isn't. All of the wrestlers, from beginning to end, were messing up or moving too slowly.

I was thinking the same. It just wasn't as exciting as usual. Everyone seemed down in the dumps or tired or something. I guess that happens when you have to travel that much. Their lives would be so exhausting.
