This is just my own nerdy understanding of it.

Geek, although originally the name of the sideshow creep who would bite the head off a live chicken for show, for his daily ration of gin, has become a word that means something like a techno (or science)-savvy nerd, or a nerd who is especially inept socially. A Nerd is supposed to be an (annoyingly) knowledgeable and socially awkward person. These are both mainly directed at guys but I've heard both used for girls too, sometimes even in a loving way!

I'm a geek, but not a nerd.

There are differences, but it's hard to explain.

there are good points in it ... geeks are confident and proud in what they are doing (most of the time , they're very good at computer and technology) , but nerds don't have a clue ;they're clumsy ...

but then again these kind of labels are nothing .... geeks and nerds are not losers ...

They are juist slang words to describe someone in a disparaging way. There are lots of such words like 'creep', 'nurk' and so on.
