can anyone think of ways that a virtual team can engage in teambuilding without meeting each other face to face?

If they have access to computers which is the obvious way.

Give each one a position in a fictitious business where they would all have to interact with each other electronically and work as a team to achieve a result.

If you were say the CEO of a company and they had put in a bid to do some work for you, then they, in the individual roles they were given would have to work together to come up with a business plan that would be presentable and win them the contract.

They would never have to meet each other, but would gain great knowledge of team working (It's how most businesses work anyway).
