Im looking to get one and wonder if I should wait until closer to christmas ... I scoured the net but couldnt find any ..

I think you'll be happy with an XPS. I have one and love it.
I've found the best thing to do is to go to the Dell site
http://www.dell.com and set up an "account". Dell will email you all of the sale info and details. I haven't seen any "sales" on the XPS lately but keep checking on the site itself and watch the email after you set it up to get them.
I bought my XPS last December about 2 weeks before Christmas and got a pretty good deal.
