One day this summer I bleached my hair.
An hour later died it back to brown. That didn't quite work so another hour later died it brown again.. That worked and my scalp was on fire that night.

Since then I have had to re dye it twice to cover the blond

First of all, you would never "dye" your hair. Dye is for fabrics and can only add colour to hair. It can never be lighter. You are thinking of hair colour (it's a different process than dyeing). Yes, you are correct that if you colour your hair, there is the problem of up-keep. Hair grows, and in a short time, you will have "roots". You will need to have the regrowth touched up. How often? It all depends on how fast your hair grows, and how different the artificial colour is from your own natural colour. It's rare that anyone has hair that light as in the photos. You will have darker roots showing quickly. If your own hair is very dark, you will see them almost immediately. There is nothing worse than light blonde with dark roots!! The same goes for someone colouring hair very dark.. but having white roots. Not pretty. If your hair grows very fast, you will have to do this more often. You don't want to let the regrowth to reach more than an inch. It will be quite visible by then, especially if your hair is longer and you have a part. You can get away with it with shorter layered hair. It's difficult to do it properly if you let it grow too long. If you don't have much time to spend on your hair (and money), then you should perhaps consider hi-lights. They can grow out without looking too bad. They can still give you a lighter colour without a complete colour change. Save this colour for a time when you have more money and time to spend on yourself.

Its been a long time, I'm trying to get it to the natural color it is. Then I'll decide what to do with it later. I'm thinking highlights.
