War is not good, but that's never stopped it from happening. And socialized medicine isn't all bad. At first, it would appear good. The danger in it only sets in when it's usually too late to turn back the clock. What's wrong in advocating a policy where everyone works for their own good, and provides for themselves? It's an extremely gratifying experience to know you can provide for yourself, and while providing for yourself costs money, knowing you are doing it is priceless. Many people seem to have the gimmes, they want this and that and they just want it handed to them; I can't respect that. I know what it's like to be poor. I was out of work for a year once, and my diet consisted of only ramen noodles. Now I can't even eat them anymore without puking. Their was no going out, no buying things, power was shut off several times as I begged family members for money. Now I can provide for myself through hard work, and I couldn't put a price tag on what it took to get here.

Yes socialized medicine is bad. Every country that has it knows it, but some Americans are not intelligent enough to realize this. Did you see the report recently about people in England having to pull their own teeth? Their National Health care System has driven away the competent doctors and dentists, have left people waiting for months for medical help and have made people resort to going to private doctors. They have a national system and have to go private any way. This is good how?

Has anyone ever been to a Veteran's Hospital? How about you Outcrop? The people that are fighting to keep us free are getting the worst health care for free! This is what you want for everyone. Unbelievable.

Well, Edge, you know, they've been brainwashed. I saw a bumper sticker today that said: "There's a village somewhere in Texas that's missing an idiot". How true!

...and they keep on forgetting...IRAQ DID NOT ATTACK US!

There are too many falsehoods out there about the proposed National Health Care. I'd like to post a link so everyone can see what it is for themselves instead of repeating all the garbage they hear.

I can't get it either, we have socialized fire and police dept. The only problem with socialized medicine is we dont have it. We all pay for our arm services the national guard no one seems to worry about that only when it comes to help our citizens who foot the bills of the whole country its bad. The Insurance companies have ruled this country for decades. Why do you were seat belts, better yet why do you have them in your cars. Because of insurnace same with your health, home, car, everything drugs they run our lives. And people are afraid to use it. Its a business and socialized meds with put them in there place and save us all money. They would be all after our business then.

You need to check into what socialized medicine actually involves and it has nothing to do with the war. If the democrats had their way on this you will be paying for both and I'm not sure which would be the most expensive. Expecially when you are paying for those who abuse their bodies with drugs, alcohol, and obesity while you are relatively healthy! At least with paying for the war we are getting our freedoms!

Of course it's not. I feel sorry for the generations to come and the mess they are going to have to deal with. Since I'm in Generation X, I'll be feeling it as well. I almost cannot wait for the babyboomers to be gone because their greed and selfish attitude as a generation is tearing us apart. That's what I feel anyway. It could be wrong. But we are in trouble. The evidence is everywhere if you get out of the woodwork as they say. I think we can do better. We just need to get involved.

bad, i see all these teachers wanting to put children on ritilin instead of making the parents raise their children. i see so many parents not wanting to raise their children, but wanting to be their children's "friends". Children need parents, they need rules, they need structure from their parents, they have friends at school and if they don't that will teach them to become comfortable w/ themselves by themselves so when they are adults they will be able to stand on their own. I think ppl who put thier children on those drugs need to be shot! oooo or put them on a whole bunch of drugs.
