When you first get your period, it may be a bit irregular for the subsequent ones and that's pretty normal. Regardless, you should bring your pads with you, just in case. It's better to be prepared than not. I always carry a tampon and a pad in my bag either my period is due or not, because you never know what can happen.

You aren't regulated yet, so you need to watch it. Definatly bring protection (tampon-best personally and/or a Pad) I personally had difficulty when I had my period the first few time. The first time it was fine, light and manageable. The second time I had cramps for the first time and my flow increased heavily-but a lot of people had heavy flow. So be prepaird, I can't stress that enough. You can' be in quite an embarassing position if you aren't prepaird. Even be prepaired when you aren't expecting it especially since you are new to periods and they aren't exactly regulated so they could come at anytime. No need to freak out, just be prepaired and it should help a lot. My second time was so heavy and I wasn't prepaired for it that I had to leave school because I was bleeding and it was seeping through my pad. Then it was so heavy I had to go to the gyn and get tested for anemia because of the flow but oddly I had high iron and they put me on the pill to help reduce the flow and regulate me better. You can wear tampons, but I sugget reading all the instructions so that you understand it fully and be more relaxed. It definatly helped me understand and relax more, and tampons in my experince are better. They are more comfortable and allows you freer motion than pads which restricts your movement because of leaking out of the side and stuff. If you are worried about leaking with the tampon, wear a panty liner as it is more comfortable than a thick pad and will catch anything your tampon misses if you don't change it in time.
Good luck.

For this going to just be your second period! Theres a VERY high chance that you may not get your period for a long time! It could be a week from now, a month from now or even 5 months from now. Everyone's body is different. I think I've skipped just one month before! Didn't skip a whole lot. My periods were honestly pretty regular. Well, if you're going to be on a trip it would be wonderful to be wearing tampons. Since you're new to periods if you do decide to wear a tampon. Wear a panty liner too just in case you get a leak. Bring tampons & pads with you on this trip just in case & bring plenty. It takes awhile to figure out which absorbency of tampons to wear throughout your cycle. Since you're new prolly use slim/the smaller tampons! Make sure you change them vey often! Never go more than 5 hours with a tampon in. If you have heavy periods use the super tampons.. but like I said.. at first use the smaller ones that way you get used to them. If you use the small tampons and are the lucky girl with heavy periods(just kidding it's not fun) then change your tampon every 1-2 hours! Make sure to wear a panty liner with your tampons that way you get used to it etc. Good Luck & have fun on your trip!!

Welcome to womanhood! These questions will present themselves for the rest of your life. As a general rule I always carry a tampon and/or a pad with me just in case. Even if I am not "due." That will buy you some time at least until you can get somewhere to purchase additional supplies. If you will not have access to buying more, take what you think you might need in this case.
There should be no reason you cannot use tampons. If you have not tried yet, be aware that it can take some getting used to inserting them properly and you need to be relaxed and not in a rush the first times. Good luck! and enjoy your trip!

You're right. Your hormones are all mixed up right now. You may not get a period this month, but then again, you just never know. Be prepared for it. Wear a pantyliner all the time just in case. If you DO get it, you can wear tampons or pads. Also bring Midol in case you feel wiped out or have cramps.
Most importantly, have fun!! Good luck, sweetie! :)

Bring your pads and tampons with you just in case but do not use a tampon untill you start your period. Using them befroe you start it can lead to TSS and that can be deadly. But no it's not too early to use tampons, just be sure to give yourself plenty of time to work on putting them in so that your not stressed out or anything. Good Luck!
