Yes, very much so. It seems to me like people are coming through for me the least when I needed them the most. They know who they are, so I'm not worried about it.

I have a few times so far in my life and boy it does hurt but you have to just get over it and move on..The person or people that has done it won't care..otherwise they would of never done it..just accept what has happened and move on with your life.

Recently my father has let me down when he walked out on my mother. I suppose in the back of my mind it still bothers me but I don't let it affect me in my day to day life. The key to dealing with any kind of disappointment is to talk about it. You will never accept it. You will never get over it but you will move on.

Oh yes, I've been let down. The only way I've found to move on is through forgiveness. And forgiving somene who's let you down or betrayed you is probably one of the hardest things you will ever do because not only do you have to forgive them, you have to learn to trust them not to do something like that to you again. Read some of this stuff; it might give you some insight and help you to embark on forgiveness. I know it's cheesy but I've actually read this stuff and it sort of made me feel better...

And good luck :) I'm sorry you've been let down.

My ex husband cheated on me and that let me down terribly. I have come to accept it over time and have moved on. If I didn't have kids I don't know how I would have handled it.

People will always let you down. It's because we expect more from them then they can offer. We expect how we would act, but other people are different. Accept that they will let you down and move on.
Good luck

To fail is to be human. If I look for perfection in people then I am let down. When I realize that people have frailties and that is the nature of being a human being, then I am never let down. People are pretty good for the most part....or maybe I am lucky by the people I surround myself with.

yes, people have let me down, and that is why I learned that it's not a good thing to always depend on other people........ and then I learned the biggest lesson was I let myself down...... I didn't follow through with something or something like that . It was an eye opening experience...... I also learned how to forgive and forgive myself............... we are human and make mistakes and not everyone is going to make the same choices as I do therefore I can't judge them or the decisions that they make, so if I feel let down, it's on me....... my feelings about the situation, because they don't' or won't necessarily make the same decision as I...........

Boy, I hope this makes sense...... the thoughts came so quickly........ hehehehe

I believe people will always "let you down".
People never live up to our expectations, so I have learned to either accept them for who they are or to move on without them.
What other choice do you have ?
