Vice President of casting from a TV network requested a general interview with me but doesn't say what it's about. Agency mentions a feature but no one says anything else....Is this considered an audition of sorts?

Absolutely. It means that your personality is more important than anything. They either feel that you have enough on your resume or credits aren't important here. They want to see if you are simply the right person for the project and if you are someone that they want to work with for 3 months or longer. Be a nice genuine person and have some things to talk about and you'll be ok. Hopefully you can do small talk, have a story to tell if necessary. Usually something that happened on the way there or that week in your life or whatever. Make it up if you have to, but don't go over the top. Dead air is not good, but neither are really tall tales.

good luck!

The first answerer is spot-on. The second answerer is a bozo.

They want to speak to you to find out your temperament and demeanor, to try to gauge your interpersonal abilities and how you conduct yourself. Though the media loves to glamorize egomaniacal diva behavior, the reality is that no producer wants to work with someone who's a pain in the neck.

So be pleasant, courteous, and show them that you're a committed professional.
