First of all - you should not get angry because someone sneezes! It is a fact that you cannot control the urge to sneeze, and second of all , it is a good thing, so don't be disgusted by it! It is preventing you from inhaling something your body finds offensive. Saying "bless you" is just the shortened version of "God bless you", that people used to say. I am sure there are many versions and folk-tales about it, but my Swedish Grandmother always told me that the urge to sneeze was caused by Demons, and evil spirits trying to enter your body through your nose, so when you sneezed- it was God's way of expelling all these bad things from your body - hence the saying "God blessed you"! , that became shortened to just God bless you. So , don't be angry - consider it a good thing for that person, and be sure to bless them when they sneeze !!!

I always say bless you, I was at Subway the other night and a guy sneezed, and I said bless you, and it seemed to make his attitude better.

I say Bless You but it's more of a quick "Bleshyou." I'll usually say it once, but if the person sneezes a gajillion times obviously I'm not going to say it over and over. It really depends on if I like them or not, but mostly I just say it out of habit.

I either say "God bless you" or "Geshundheit". It's just an automatic reaction when someone sneezes. Why would anyone be disgusted when someone sneezed? It's a bodily function; it happens.

Yes I even say it to my dog and cats when they sneeze. Its just a habit. When I was a kid Id get my face backhanded by my parents for not using manners so I learned real quick to say excuse me and thank you and bless you.

well if they cover their mouth and turn away, then they have done all they can. It's not like they tried to sneeze.
