Hmmmm... That's confusing. I suggest you go to the doctor and get a blood pregnancy test. They are very accurate and then you would know for sure. Best of luck!

Different brands of tests, and even different tests with the same brand, have different sensitivity levels. I don't have a link to the different levels, although you can find some of them through http://www.peeonastick.com.

Chances are the "First Response Next Day" is simply not sensitive enough to detect enough of the pregnancy hormone this early. The name of the test implies to me that it's designed to test the day after your period is late. But since you're using it three days before your period is due - you may be using it too early.

The MOST sensitive brand is First Response Early Result. They can detect pregnancy hormone levels as low as 6.5 mIU, which is generally the amount in your bloodstream the day after implantation; and that amount is generally present 4 - 5 days BEFORE your period starts (IF you're pregnant).

Take another test, and/or call a doctor if you want and ask for a quantitative blood test. The quantitative measures the actual amount of the pregnancy hormone in your blood, and based on that level the doctor can give you a determination of pregnant or not pregnant. (NOTE: most women have anywhere from 0 - 3 mIU of this hormone in their blood even when they are NOT pregnant. Any quantitative result of 5 mIU or greater is considered to be positive for pregnancy.)

Well they say there is no such thing as a false positive so I would wait a week and go and buy another test. If you can't wait that long just go to the doctors and have a blood test done. The blood test is more confirmative anyways. I have never had a positive home pregnancy test amd I have had 3 pregnancies.

The doctor will have you take the same test you already took. You can get false negatives, but not false positives. Sounds like you're pregnant. I would still go to the doctor just to start the ball rolling toward whatever end you want.

If your period is not one time, make an appointment with your doctor and get the blood test to make sure if you are pregnant or not. You can still have a light period in your first trimester.
Or you can get another test and try again.

You should probably go to the doctors and have them do a test. I have heard though that if it shows up positive it usually it. You usually only get false negatives

Doctor.

(and yes, there is such thing as a false positive... I had one once, and about three hours later I had a negative. Then days later I had a negative, then days later I had another. I wasn't preggers.)

Go to the doctor and get a blood test. It is reliable. Also, you can wait to see if you get your period in a few weeks. Congratulations if you are!

well, they say there is NO SUCH THING as a false positive only a false negative. save some money and wait 3 more days then test again.
