I was called "Sticks." Skinny and lanky for my age. I never liked the name.

It was Little DA. My brother first got the nickname "DA". I didn't want to be left out, I wanted to be called DA as well. So every body started calling him Big DA and me Little DA. Both of our names started with a "D" and of course our last name (being the same) started with an "A". So all of our friends ended up calling us that.
But I lost my brother threw death, almost 3 years ago. I still like the name Little DA, just very few people even calls me that now.

My dad always called me Shawna, for as far back as I can
remember. I never asked him why he didn't use my given
name. Although, my mom had always told me, it was his
mom who named me from the bible. So maybe he chose a
nickname, because he didn't like my given name? He never
once called me by my real name, or the nickname I chose
for myself later on, and stuck with it all the rest of my life.
He also called me a Shnicklefritz, as well. My mom was
German, and he must have borrowed that from some
cookbook or something LOL. I don't know where that came
from.

A couple of the boys at school had some rather nasty names they called me. I was super skinny. One of them called me 4 eyes when I first started wearing glasses. He also called me baldy when Mom cut my hair--it was always long. Kids can really
hurt.

I was always skinny, and still am. they still tease me that if I stand side ways in the rain I wouldn't get wet. I was was string bean, light pole, 4-eyes, and my friend I grew up with she had other friends with the same name as I ( her name as well was the same) and when I would call her son had to say its (my name) with the giraffe 's neck, cause my neck is a long and skinny one as well.. these are just some names that come to me...

Oh, thanks, guys, I needed that! Schnikelfritz--is that how you spell it?--my dad used to call me that, too, though I have no idea why. No German in his line as far as I have found. My brother came back from Korea calling me what he said was the Korean word for monkey because I was always up in, climbing in, or sliding down the branches of trees around our place. Fortunately, I think maybe he's forgotten that now.

My eldest daughter Lisa, is called Lulu to this day because my 2 grandsons, aged 18 & 19 now couldn't pronounce her name. It's just as well because my daughter-in-law is called lisa.
My Dad used to call me Blossom and my cousin Buzzemecue goodness knows why. Thankfully it hasn't stuck and I am just plain Sue.

My nickname has always been "Tat". My parents started calling me that when I was a baby, and my older brother called me that, too. To this day my parents and brother still call me "Tat", and also my husband of 28 years. I wouldn't know what to think if they suddenly stopped!

(Bj).....I was called "Biscuit" by my friends coz I used to always buy broken biscuits from Woolworths on a Saturday when I got my pocket money. My dad called me "Flossy" and I got the usual nicknames from other kids at school like "Specky-Four-Eyes", "Skinny-Malinky", "Lanky" and "Lanky-Pod". It was rough for those of us who were tall, thin and wore glasses!
