underwear cannot cause diseases. When you are on your period, the only concern I have is coverage. If you are wearing the proper protection, ie tampon, etc. then it should not be a problem. I always keep certain things in mind though. Thongs as with any underwear should fit right and not be too tight. I wear cotton or a breathable fabric for comfort.

Dear Friend,
Who told you that you could get a disease if you wear sexy underwear during your period. Here in Canada most females where only sexy undergarmets. Exspecially thongs, and g-strings. Period or not. Just make sure you use the right type of pads, so that you don't stain. If you use tampoons, than you really have nothing to worry about.

wearing a thong when you have your period will not cause diseases! You will just want to make sure you wear a super absorbent Tampon so you don't leak. I would not reccommend wearing a pad with this.

other than being just plain annoying...lol jk
it should be fine (I wouldn't wear them on your heavyest days) incase tampons leak a bit.
Now, I have something called strep B... that's caused by microspopic bits of fecal material that get on your vagina from your anus....thongs can help this occur.
There is nothing to worry about with this disease except that you will have to be checked for it when pregnant; it could hurt the baby.
The treatment for this is a few bags of anti-biotics during labor so that the baby will not contract it from you (causes blindness or other difficulties in newborns)

it's not going to cause a disease. It depends on how comfortable you are about it. If you wear tampons then wearing a thong is ok if you are comfortable. If not, i would stick with regular panties.

What sort of disease were you thinking of catching?
A thong is just a smaller piece of underwear.

How in the world can you get a disease from panties?
lol I've never once heard of that.
Depending on what your wearing (pads, or tampon) select the right, comfortable, best fitting panties.
lol

You shouldn't have any problems.
Kotex has a femenine pad for thongs. You can see them here:
http://www.kotex.com/na/products/pantiliners.asp?h=l&p=ltdythng
There are some cases in which TAMPONS cause TTS, or Toxic Shock Syndrome. You can read about it here:
