if Barack Obama becomes the next president it will be a great thing for america. but will america go on and on and on about what a huge milestone it is, till everyone is sick of hearing about it? it will be an important event but i think america is gonna blow it out of proportion, dont you?
i want barrack to win but will the media go nuts over every aspect of it for months?
.....kind of like 9/11. 9/11 was a huge event but it was everywhere in the media for far too long.

"blakesgal" my question isnt about his politics. i'm asking about the color of his skin. your country has huge problems with race issues, thats why im asking.

also 'blakesgal', yes, the fact that he is black alone is a great thing for the country. but anyway, my question is about the media, not whether it'll be good or not

I definitely think the media will grab hold of that and not let it go until it is long past dead. Hopefully, though, it won't last very long. I'm hoping once the media gets past the "novelty" of a black president (if that were to happen with him) they would refocus on what's important.
I really don't care either way if a candidate is black, white, a woman, whatever. I'd really like the media to stop focusing on their personal lives and personalities and get people informed on what they actually plan to DO.

If Obama becomes president I hope the media doesn't make a big deal about his race. Of course, it's a milestone. But, lets get past these silly racist issues. Race has nothing to do with his qualifications and accomplishments. Good luck. 2D

No - I suspect it will become a non-news event very quickly. Just because someone has a level of pigment in his skin that is different to his predecessors does not affect the use of his brain, the use of his political skills, the use of his communication skills etc etc. Are you a flat earther as well?

Media will go on and on like they will if Hillary wins 'cause she's a female. Shouldn't happen but l think it will. They already bring it up at every opportunity.

If the US was ready for a total moron for president (twice in a row), the US is ready for anything. Barack is a very smart man so the US is certainly read... err... hmmm... maybe you should re-state your question...

We are ready for a black president, but not someone with a name like Obama.

Although I agree that a black president would be a huge step for America, I believe it would be an even greater step to have a female president.

wow..you said nothing about what he stood on,,just that it will be agreat thing for America..why, because he is black. big, big mistake people. look and see waht he believes in. You do realize he will be making laws then impact on you--you need to look for more than color.like, he believes in abortion..his stance on the Iraq War..and so on.

I don't vote for the personalities, I vote on the issues and what they believe in.
