These clocks have been around since the mid 1930s and are still being made today. Here is the history of them:

I've never had one, but I told my husband that's all I want for Christmas this year. I want to hang it in my newly remodeled cat-themed kitchen.

That's ok, Kerilyn! I know how it is when something like that creeps you out. I feel that way about dolls and clowns! When something scares you in childhood, it's hard to get over it! Thanks for your answer!

My grandma had one it hung in the family camp for yrs, then one day it was stolen.
I love them too, now that I know you can still get them I just might try for one.

Oh that would really look cute, with your other cat accents al-
right. I always wanted one too. And never bought one, nor
given one. Come to think of it, I have never put it on any Xmas
list. Well now I don't have room for one, so my stove and
microwave clocks just have to do me. I was always so fascin-
ated with the eyes that would move back and force to the
movement of the tail below. I guess I'd still enjoy watching
one move, if I ran across one.

If a household didn't have one, usually the neighborhood store did. I remember going to get penny candy and watching the clock.

I too was scared of the eyes always moving back and forth ,back and forth. Because of that dont think I would want one but for those that liked them I`m sure they are glad for the link.

I had one years ago but it stopped working. It was really cute and when my grandkids were little they loved it.
