As you may have read i had a scan today and she detected an egg but surely if i had a positive ovulation test a week ago (16th and 17th) then i would have ovulated in 12 - 24 hours and if it hadnt of been fertilised then there wouldnt have been an egg a week later or would there????

THe egg inplants itself sometimes within 7 days but somethimes can take up to 12 days so it would be fertilitzed and just hasn't made its way to your uterus yet and implanted... give it another 4-5 days and test.
I know how hard it is too wait. You can go to the dollar store a buy about 6 tests and test everyday till then, if it will help you make it through the days.. sometime I do that...lol
