Complete stupidity. The NFL knows that football soccer is king in England. No game in England can possibly beat the crowds of the Premier League especially at Man U & Arsenal games.

Oh yeah! Right the basketball game in China. I remember that. Thanks for reminding me Ichoops. I was coming back from class expecting to watch ESPN First Take when suddenly I find this live Cavs-Magic game going on. I was like what the hell is the NBA doing in China? The only league that is allowed to play in Europe is the NHL but not in England as hockey is not that popular there as it is in other European countries.

I understand you cannot have progress without change, but not all change is progress. I'm not sure about this game in england; american football is growing abroad but I think there will be diminishing marginal returns as far as playing a regular season game in Europe. Despite the loss of NFL Europe, there are many leagues abroad. It is at least 15 years til the NFL would expand cross continent; anything sooner would be a foolish attempt to force the issue and result in uneeded years of financial loss, and stagnation. I understand the desire to test the water, but this is a mistake.

They want "Interest" in the game. Yet they shut down NFL Europa(what IDIOT changed the name from NFL Europe anyway) because it was losing money. Oh good now the Europeans can be interested but won't have any games to watch, except to PAY the NFL to beam the game over. Can't go watch the local players and the guys who are developing for the NFL.

Utter stupidity. The same reason they played an 2 NHL games there this season. It is a rip off to season ticket holders and to the core fan base that has made the NFL what it is today.

The NFL is trying to expand it's market to Europe where their are more people. It's all about making money for these major sports industries. Why do you think the NBA, MLB, NHL, scout from European leagues? Look at Yao Ming; he is the most known person in China.

Because its a move to get a bigger fan base over there because they closed the NFL Europe. They are also thinking about moving the Super Bowl over there in a few years.

Which to me I think is total crap all the way around.

Same reason why MLB plays games in Japan and hockey plays games in Europe, to try to spread the popularity of their respective sports world wide. Not that any British would replace their knee pads for shoulder pads.
