It would have been nice to know the reason for your query (i.e., idle curiosity? have to add a doodad? if so, what type?), but given that you put this question under "Add-ons", there is very little that can be attached to today's computers that requires knowledge of the brand of the motherboard.
Your computer manual or box might have such indicated somewhere. But, for most Windows-based computers, you can find out most of the settings, brands, etc, by doing the following:
- click 'Start'
- click 'Control Panel'
- double-click 'System'
- the "General" tab should display; if not, click it
- click 'Hardware'
- click 'Device Manager'
- click anything you want (detailed info such as the specific brand of the motherboard might be excluded, but the rest of the info should be all that you need for the add-on)
You might get further information from your computer's "BIOS", but accidentally changing those settings is highly risky for those who aren't computer savvy (and even for those who claim to be!), so I won't tell you how to do that (sorry!).
You can also simply open up your computer's case (assuming it's a desktop), but, again, it's potentially dangerous, both to your computer and you, via electric shock and any accidental damage, and, as I said, above, odds are, you really don't need that info, so don't do it!
