the really small ones i never wear. plus there really bad for you.they can cause infections. i always wear boy shorts.

honestly, LOL, it depends on the thong. There are lots of styles - believe it or not and some are WAY more comfortable than the others. MATERIAL/FABRIC is another factor that makes one better.
Why are they popular - I suppose everyone has their own reasons, but I think panty lines are the biggest reason. I always thought they would be the most uncomfortable things to wear, but again, there are some that are WAY more comfortable than other styles simply because of the elastic and fit. Until you give it a try, it is hard to explain how it might be more comfortable with the pants you are wearing.
Maybe you want to give it a whirl...you might be impressed. KIDDING!

I wear them for two reason...
1. No panty lines
2. Just more comfortable to me

girl boxer shorts are more comfortable, and according to my boyfriend definitely more sexy!
i only wear g-strings generally when i've got tighter trousers or skirts on where normal pants / boxers would show, and also i find them quite comfortable (although i wouldn't generally wear them more than 1 day in a row, starts to chafe!)

I only wear them when i have pants that will really show a line.
Other than that, I prefer butt-covering undies. :]
