When you decorate your house for Christmas do you have it themed by color and style or is it just a hodgepodge off stuff you've collected through the years?

Personally, I love hodgepodge decorations. Stuff from my childhood, ornaments my son's made, homemade gifts...whatever. I also love people who do big light displays, the tackier the better. Can't wait until Christmas!!

If it's beautiful and/or sentimental, it goes on. Personally, I hate themes that have nothing whatsoever to do with the season or feel of the season-- like my brother in-law's "Star Wars" Christmas tree.

A definite hodgepodge. I collect stockings and reindeer so I have many of those. I'm in an apartment with a cat so I don't have a tree, but I have ornaments that I put in a bowl or just hang on the wall.

i do different themes for different rooms- my kitchen is bright and colorful so i go for more cutesy, sparkly christmas stuff- in my living room i go for a more traditional, elegant look- more earthy christmas colors with a little gold here and there and since i have a blue bathroom i do silver and blue and white christmas decorations in there, etc. etc.
i can't wait to start decorating!!!!

I decorate with a theme and sychronize my lights to music. I also partition my yard with sub themes (such as it is).

I am attaching a listing of sites that will allow you to find a Decoration site near you. Or, you can submit a picture of you home for others to see:

I do the room-by-room thing. Dining room is green tree with all white or clear decorations. Kitchen is a tree with beaded apples, grapes, candies. In the TV room I do a Partridge in a Pear tree with beaded pears and a White Partridge on top with clear lights. No tree in the bathroom just grinch decorations.

We get wood cut outs ( sold in kits), paint them and put them in the yard. Last year we put batting (the white liner in your comforter) all over the lawn to look like snow, then put all the elf and tree cut outs with the big santa cutout. It was great!

I go for the hodgepodge look. I hate everything all one color. I want variety!
