are allowed to show portions of eachothers shows. For example Keith Olbermann can show Bill O'reilly footage while O'reilly shows segments of Wolf Blitzer interviews. Aren't there copyright laws being violated. I can't see them giving eachother permission being they are all competitors.

You can't copyright a sound bite. It's called Television.

Besides, where the fun be without the network slugfest?
