Over the last 5 years the US's exchange rate on curancy with Canada went from being 64% of a US dollar in 2002 to being equal or above what the US dollar is 5 years later and with us not getting anything out of it except death and destruction in the country of Iraq. It's Bush's war that leads to our current economic problem, and if we would cut the spending on our Department of Offense (it isn't Defense if we started the war, their were no links between Sadam and al-queada except in Bush's and Cheyney's minds, and yes going to Afghanistan and actually attacking the group that made 9/11 possible was justified by the rest of the world and there isn't an American running for president that wouldn't justify that action.)
I hope the dems get in power and actually realize the only way this nation will stay strong is to make it strong. The other country's have universal healthcare and their currancy is doing better than ours; so I don't understand why you believe healthcare will make our currancy worse when that hasn't been the case globally.
If you stop the sucking sound that this war is causing on the US's economy, we will have money to do the right thing for all our citizens. Universal health care would actually help the employees of the US and their employers to be more competitive on the world market, because they would no longer have to add the cost of insurance to the persons wages to determine how much it costs to hire an American.
If businesses no longer have to carry the load on our current Health Care System hiring an American will become cheaper and some of our jobs will stop being exported overseas, some may even come back, or the person with a smaller business will be able to invest in his company growth and the hire more individuals.
I thought Hillarie's idea of thousands of dollars to each child born was one of the biggest hair brained schemes I've heard come out of anybody's mouth, and agree that we shouldn't give all things away based on a stupid whim. If you want to see our children get educated, make education more accessable and affordable so that higher education is with in every one's grasp. We now have the internet as a great teaching devise and need to use it to its fullest extent to make access to education reasonable and affordable. Granted you can't do a lot of lab for science classes on line, but there are many forms of education that can be taught on line and for less cost than sending a child to school and not only the tuition and books, but the cost of food and lodging, etc makes education out of the reach of some of its citizens and it is wrong, and throwing someone 5,000 dollars to help pay for something that will not be within the economic reach of that individual is stupid. About as stupid as facing a budget problem and cutting taxes on those that could actually afford to be paying more (Bush's plan again.)
Bush has taken a budget that was on target to be balanced and is leaving us with trillions of dollars of deficits. Our currancy is at an all time low with the Republicans leading our White House, how can you say that a Democrat in the White House can do worse, when the last time a Democrat was in the White House our deficits were less and becoming balanced and our economy was booming? Don't fly off the handle on the future which may not happen anyways, Ted Kennedy had over a 50% majority before the primaries and lost so it is possible Clinton may not even get the parties nomination, when the real problems that exist that gutted the dollar were the work of the Republican Administration that is still hard at work sending this country down the drain so some fat cats can get fatter.

The only ones talking about FREE health care are conservatives and Republicans. Hillary's plan and that of other Democrats is AFFORDABLE health care. There is a big difference between free and affordable. But the scare tactics from the right show they are only interested in lies, personal attacks and name calling rather than true discussion of facts. I doubt any on the right have read the Democratic proposal. Even if it were a free form it is better than no plan at all. That is what the Republicans are proposing NOTHING, zip, nada. Everything proposed by the Democrats, by the way, besides health care reform is paid for and nothing is free. So it looks like the same old one trick Republican pony of (God forbid, we have to pay taxes) scare tactics loaded with lies will be trotted out.

Where have you been lately?
The dollar is worthless ... right now, today.
And who's running the country and the economy?
The Euro, which was lower than the US dollar when it
began in 1993 costs $1.42+ this morning. The British pound costs $2.04.
Don't you read a paper? Hear any news?
It's your future you are being ignorant about and you will pay for this luxury.

Having affordable health care would boost the U.S. economy. Right now we pay more into a system that provides very little in terms of coverage but is a huge drain on our economy. Taking the burden of health care off of U.S. businesses would make them more competitive and profitable. There is a better solution but it won't be easy to find the best solution. I would like to see the insurance industry become not for profit.

Why do people preface their questions with the word FREE.
There is no such thing, you will pay for your health care plan out of your federal, or state taxes.
That is the way it is done by countries all around the world, who offer national health care to their citizens.

When has she ever proposed "Free" healthcare for everyone?...... She has proposed subsidizing the ppors health insurance premiums, that does not make it free....although I have been fortunate to enjoy a carreer that has provided me with good benefits, millions of americans goto work everyday and are provided with no insurance whatsoever...... we should be ashamed by the number of people we have in this country without basic healthcare.
And your arguement does not hold water....the dollar has declined to record levels against the canadian dollar, British pound, and the Euro....all currencies are from countries with "Free" healthcare....

Free healthcare? Nope, not for me. I work. Therefore I have to pay. It’s societies leeches that get it free. Those that haven’t lifted a finger to do anything worthwhile for themselves and have nothing to show. They want and get the freebies. Working class people get the chance to pay for it.
If someone wants better healthcare, work hard, do a good job, go get a better job. Trust me, anyone can do it. There is no excuse for anyone to not be able to do better for themselves. People have to choose to do it though, and they won’t while they keep getting handouts.
