It can be done, do a search on the net, there are CBR forums that can give detailed instructions on the HOW. There are companies that make lowering links for the rear. There are both 2" and 4" drops. The front can be lowered by sliding the folks up in the triple tree. Lowering a bike will reduce ground clearance and have a small effect on handling. As far as the seat goes, well that is a tough one as there is not a lot of padding on there to begin with.

you may be able to purchase lower shocks and usually a couple inches will do it.
As the person above said, the seat can be modified by reshaping the foam, usually someone that recovers bike seats can help with that.
Some bikes can have the forks lowered too, if you lower the rear and do nothing with the front it will handle odd. I think the cbr has one shock, right.. I work with cruisers not the croch rockets

ya, drop the front forks and inch or two in the triple clamp, and try to see if the suspention can be ajusted for ride hieght( i doubt it)
really the best thing to do that might cost some money, but if you dont mind spending a grand or so would be to get and air ride suspention. that way you can lower it for yourself and raise it for him, it would be perfect, i think you can adjust the stiffness for comfort on a long ride, or stiffen it up for the twisties.

yes, you can drop the motorcycle by changing out the shocks/springs like on a car. I think you might need a couple inches dropped.

You can lower the seat height 2-4 inches with lowering links.
Ask your hubby to measure how much you would need, while you're sitting on the bike.

cbr600 that my son has is a mono shock. and it is adjustable, but you need way more adjustment that that. Forget the seat, it has almost no padding as it is.Don't forget, you can wear thick sole/heel boots and gain some there.

need to look at the options, call honda and see what they have for that setup, maybe some smaller shocks, also might be able to rip the seat out and redo it,
