Hi, I met an old childhood friend on facebook and we met up to catch up. He has my number, but when he asked to meet up for a second date, he sent me an email using facebook. I don't understand why he didn't call me instead? He is not the shy type. Does this somehow imply that he doesn't want to have a conversation and get to know me over the phone but just interested in sex?

Maybe he lost your number?

Reply to his email asking him to call you to discuss. Then you'll find out.

You'll never know unless you confront him at that point where it become questionable what his intentions are. Sending email invites for a date may seem a little more impersonal, but it's a pretty sure way of getting the message rather than chancing a phone call not being answered. A second meeting doesn't necessarily mean the guy expects more than just a date anyway. It's what happens during the date and the way you act toward him that gives him the idea that's what you may want.

That is one thing I find really annoying about facebook and myspace... the emails through the site that require logging on, etc, when they already have your phone number. I don't think though that I would read SEX as a reason for this, it's just part of our culture that people use facebook and myspace instead of more intimate forms of communication.

Just be direct and ASK him this question.Look him right in the eye and say Hay what are your intentions? Always ladies be direct with your guy,say what you mean so there is no miss understanding...believe me a man can handle it. Now about sex just about every guy I know or hung out with is going to try to convince you to have sex with them.Do not do it,do it after you are married to them, then if they mess up you have legal rights. But do not give them sex until they give you the I do,the ring, the house, and everything you need to nest.

I think you need to ask him. If your conversations are mostly about sex, than yeah he wants to get you into bed. If he truly is interested in getting to know you then he will ask questions about you, and you will have a real conversation with him. If you jump into bed with him after that, then that is your doing.

You're thinking too much. Some people are just accustomed to e-mailing rather than calling now. Don't look so far into it, see what he actually says and then go from there.

You met him on facebook and now he is using the method in which you met to contact you again? Even if he has your other information I don't see why that is strange.
