If you were married for 45 years and you found out in year 46 that your wife or husband had a six month affair in year 25, would you care?

Provided they hadn't cheated since then, I'd forgive them...after all that was 20 years ago. I'd be a bit upset, sure, but I'd forgive him.

Yeah, because I think it would hurt a lot more than if I had known back in year 25. I would feel like for the past 20+ years I had been lied to. That's a lot of lying to deal with! I think it would have been slightly easier to deal with if I had known about it in years 26 or even 27.

Did husband/wife met him/her again after the affair ended?Was it over and out after 6 month?

Care? of course you would care but then you have several questions to ask, like to you want to start over and was that person being neglected emotionally and was just looking for attention, I guess what Im saying is that cheating always has a reason behind it

Personally I wouldn't. You can't discount the 20 years since the incident, and everyone makes mistakes. If I didn't know it for 20 years and it didn't bother me not knowing it then I probably wouldn't care then either. I guess if it did I would just break her hip!!! Just joking.

um...yes! I think I would care even more! I would have wished that my husband had done it in the first year so I wouldnt have waisted my life with someone who obviously didnt really love me. I would have wanted to go out and find myself a REAL man to spend my life with!

yep, I would care, and I would divorce... if they had that affair, they probably had more, but, whether it was 1 affair, or 2, or 10, I would still leave... fooey...

i guess i'd have to over look it,,but,i'd question the rest of the years of marriage,,like if they cheated in that year,,and saw they got away with it,,what stopped them from doing it again,,however,,if the marriage were happy and healthy by the 46th year,,i'd just enjoy the marriage and the rest of my life,,,make sense?!?!
