Here is how it goes, My wife and I got pictures done at walmart of our 9 year old and 1 year old, first of all I personally believe pictures are captured at a certain point in time that is hard to repeat, the mood, the facial features and smile of someone especially in children is hard to repeat, so we got these pictures done and we got a call from the portrait studio that said our pictures was in, got there for them to say that our pictures was lost, no one knew where they were, so they would have to refund our money. Well, they then told us that at 4 pm they could not give us the money right then, they would have to call us and let us know when we could pick up the money, I threw a fit I said I gave you cash and you can't even give me the money because you do not have it? Are you kidding, does everyone not start with a teel? How do you not have the money to give a customer? They told me they would have to mail me an money order, What the hell? Are you kidding! No more Walmart Pics!

My wife and I take our 6 children to WalMart every year on or around their birthday. We use that instead of the school pictures which always come out crappy, plus it is a whole lot cheaper and we can get a 10 x 13 (which we have hanging on the wall). We have never had a problem with them at all, and we have been doing it for many years.

I totally understand your anger / frustration, but I would say try one more time. Otherwise, maybe it is just that one location - perhaps if you went to a different location it would be better.

good luck

I would have demanded to speak with a manager. Make sure that that you get the manager's name and make sure that the manager knows that you have that name. Write it down in front of them. Let them know that Wal-Mart made a mistake and by not giving you your money back, Wal-Mart is making the situation worse. Let them know that you paid in cash and ask why can Wal-Mart not give you your money back. If the manager refuses, ask what is the name of that manager's supervisor and ask when you can speak with that person. If the answer is still no, go back home and write an email to Wal-Mart HQ. Let them know that they were in the wrong and both the people at the picture center and the manager refused to give you your money back. Also, try to get in touch with the supervisor. If the manager refused to give a name of a supervisor, include that in the email. Sit back and wait. If you do not get a response that you like within a couple of days, send out a letter that gives the same information. Get it sent certified so that you can get a signature on it and see who received it. If after all of this Wal-Mart still refuses to acknowledge they were wrong and try to fix the situation, then they are officially providing you bad service and you have done everything you can do to rectify it. Then drop them like a rock.

I have found that these steps will usually get something done about poor situations found in businesses. One important point is to keep your cool at all times. Never get outraged and start to yell or cuss. Keep emotion out of your arguments and communications. You will get better results if you keep professional at all times.

One other thing, I will bet that someone at some point will tell you that it is Wal-Mart policy. Ask them why does Wal-Mart have a policy to give customers a rough time? Let them know that the policy is hurting their relations with a customer and a policy should not be blindly enforced. Another thing they may say is that they only work there and they do not make the decisions about the policy or how it should be enforced. Well, first ask to speak with someone who has even a little bit of authority and also let that person know that there is no reason why you should be punished because they cannot provide customer service.
