i'm not too sure about the iud, but also had an emergency c-section after 14 hours of labor. and an infection afterward. matter of fact, with each child i had, the more complications i had. i just had my last baby in 2006 at age 30. age-wise you are fine. the difference with my last one, was i was also in a different area with different doctors. as soon as i started to not feel well, they were very quick in finding the reason & treating me. so, there is a chance that it could happen again, but don't let that stop you. for as awful as things seemed to be at the time, i am perfectly fine now & so is my 13 month old. a little pain & discomfort was well worth it. don't be scared, sweetie. the chance that it won't happen again is far greater than the chance it will. good luck to you! :)

No your are not to old to have another baby at 31 your body is still young,I understand your problem with the emergency c section I went through the same thing except they tried the potosin and a cervadil twice. The first time for 12 hours and then a week later for 24 hours and I still ended up having a c section anyways. All pregnancys are different though so if you do decide to have another it maybe different than the first. Alot of times the first pregnancy is the hardest.Good Luck

No worries, it is easy to have an IUD removed, little tiny bit of pain but you can handle it. My bestfriend had a baby at 42, so I definately think 31 isn't too old. Every pregnancy is different by the way. I think if you have a c-section you are somewhat more likely to have one again, but even if that happened, I doubt you'd get infected again. Usually this doesn't happen.

Your mom is right, many doctors say that what happens to your first pregnancy ie: 24 hr labor 1st child, you will be more likely to give or take more than 20 hrs on your second child. and it goes for the c section. And your only 31, you are still young, strong woman, so yes, i would advice you to go ahead and get pregnant, your son would love to have a sister or brother.

You, as you know, are not too old for another baby. As far as pregnancy goes it could be the same as the last pregnancy, But it could also be a lot different. All pregnancies are different. You just had some bad luck with the last doctor. Sit down with your doctor and tell him what it is you want should these things happen again. YOU ARE THE PATIENT. If it is not comfortable for you then don't put up with it. Just sit down and talk about it with them. Good luck.

I had an emergancy c-sec with my first child, and also obtained an infection afterwards.. It was hell, but I have had three c-sec more, and no problems with any of them. Every pregnancy is different! IF you want another child, you should have one as long as you are ready for one. Don't stop yourself b/c of one bad pg. You can also try for a VBAC if this is your second delivery.. You might be shocked that a different pg is not even close like your first pg. Good luck hun!

I wouldn't worry about what your mom says. I would talk to your ob/gyn. I assume a doctor is removing your iud, so that would be a good time to talk to them. 31 is well below "advanced maternal age" (36) but maybe you would be more comfortable with a scheduled c-section. It's something you should discuss with your dr and your husband.

I just want to say that I am 31 and am 5 weeks pregnant and so if you are too old then I am too. LOL.
I would speak to your dr and make sure they know your history and seek expert advice from them. They are the best ones to determine what is best for you.

Good luck

Hi,
My mum got pregnant at 37 and was told it was fine but that theres higher risks!
Ella was born 7 years ago and was healthy and perfect!

Just goes to show! She was told she would never get pregnant again, she proved them wrong!

I think your age is fine, its how healthy and fit and capable you are of having another child.

My mum has one complaint that because shes older she hasnt got the energy as much!

Take care and Good Luck!
