Rush did not do anything that required condemnation. The attack on him was a Leftist attempt at wagging the dog.
Even those who spearheaded the attack on Rush know he has a LONG standing history of STRONGLY support the troops.

Actually Congress did condemn the "General Betray-us" ad, but they shouldn't have.
Moveon.org is a non-profit political website, which paid for advertising condemning General Petraeus' "frank assessment" of the progress in the War in Iraq. The general, while a good and honorable man, was something like 14th choice to head up Coalition forces in Iraq. His report, highly anticipated and debated abot, prettym uch confirmed allt he unreality Bush has been spinning for 4 years, condeming even more kids to death in a War for Oil.
In other words, he toed the line like a good Party Member.
Pertaeus is a public figure and as such, is vunerable to these types of attacks (and let's face it: With a name like "Petraeus", they WEREN'T going to refer to him as "General Snooky Lumps")
By contrast, Rush Limbaugh, a man who avoided his OWN military obligation by pleading about a cyst on his backside (Does Rush pull the trigger with his butt?) when called to defend his country in Vietnam, has stated several times how strognly and vehemently he supports the troops yet can label actual US Army Rangers fighting and dying in Iraq "phony soldiers" because they support withdrawing US troops from Iraq, then compounded his vile act by trying to lie about it later on, producing a editted account of what he said. It was clumsy and transparent and his Dittoheads iummediately jumped to his defense, trying to say he meant ONE discharged soldier, Jesse MacBeth, who only served 44 days (44 more than Rush ever served though) even though the quotes are clearly "phony SOLDIERS".
Do you believe people must condemn EVERYTHING they hear, see and read, or just the things they disagree with?

Rush referred to soldiers who objected to the Iraq War as “phony soldiers.” The Democrats criticized him partially in reaction to the big Republican overblown furor, joined by some Democrats, over the moveon.org ad.
You can listen to Rush’s words for yourself at the link below.

I'm not a Democrat, but I condemn EVERYTHING that Rush Limbaugh does and says. He's a pill-popping poison propagandist who brainwashes people with his lies, half-truths, innuendoes, distortions and inaccuracies.
It's only a matter of time before Limbaugh persuades some of his 'ditto heads' that it's 'acceptable' to injure - or even kill - liberals, or anyone else who doesn't agree with his particular political dogma. Hitler persuaded millions of otherwise-intelligent Germans that it was 'acceptable' to gas six million Jews; Limbaugh's perverted sense of free speech is no different.
Anyone who allows political 'pundits' such as Al Franken, Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter or Shawn Hannity shape their opinions is nothing more than a sheep being led to the slaughter. It's too bad these people don't invest their time and energies researching the true definitions of 'conservatives' and 'liberals'; they might discover they're closer to being similar than all of Limbaugh's hate-filled venom, bias, evil, arrogance and bigotry might lead them to believe. -RKO- 10/23/07

Get with the program, they bashed the hell out of move.on. Deservedly so. The Democrats condemned Rush because the fat, hate spewing, egotistical, smug bastard deserved it. He said anyone that disagrees with this war is not intelligent enough to even discuss it. That would be 70% of his fellow Americans and I would bet a hell of a lot of " phony soldiers ". How do you feel, listening to his crap and making him rich while he has contempt for everyone?

They did...where have you been at? There was a vote in the House and The Senate condemning the moveon.org ad. IMO, both things are ridiculous.

It is amazing to me the lack of indepenent thinking!
They condemned him for acting like pathetic unpatriotic unAmerican he is. Unfortinatly he is so popular our government had to say something. Some people actually eat the crap that is spoon fed to them by this guy. I think it must give a feeling something like mom spoonfeeding you as an infant, ortherwise how can you take it?

What time frame are you from?
The republicans and some dems did condemn moveon.org.
Chuck Norris would have took a different approach.

there was a massive movement by republicans to speak out against the moveon ad, that is why the dems made such a fuss about what rush said (even though they lied about what rush said) - to divert attention from the moveon ad.
