In my mind it is simply because love and sex are two completely different things. Now, if it is an affair with a long lasting relationship then you have to wonder what is (or isn't) going on within the relationship that allowed that person to garner feelings for someone else. If it is simple sex, one-night stand, type cheating then it has nothing to do with love. They still love their spouse and are committed to them, and had meaningless sex elsewhere. Then there is no rhyme or reason to why and when people hang up on why in this situation they just bang their heads against the wall. At least that is the way I feel about it.

Maybe they unfortunately fell out of love with the person, or have decided they were not ready to be stuck with the same person for the rest of their life. Maybe they needed a little more adventure. Usually the one who cheated will regret it when it is all said and done, they realize they didn't need that other person once they lose the one they had first.

It all comes down to their caring more about themselves then anyone else...and it's highly unlikely that they cared as much as they claimed to in the first place.
Was married to a cheater and finally found the strength (and brains) to leave him one and for all. He now lives with another woman and guess what, cheats on her too...
Some people make mistakes that they live to regret (though are inexcusable and still selfish) whereas others just never learn their lesson (or care to for that matter) and will live their lives doing horribly selfish and hurtful things to people they 'say' they care about most.

The idea of cheating is not to hurt your spouse. Rather, it's about getting away with something--stealing kisses in the dark. In most cases, the spouse gets hurt quite by accident; and only then does the cheater realize that it wasn't worth the risk.

some adult males do no longer understand a good element whilst it relatively is in front of them so as that they could danger dropping it to comprehend what they do or shall I say did have. Its no longer a guy that cheats it relatively is a boy fearful of committment and household initiatives - as quickly as a cheat continuously a cheat i'm afraid.

First of all you wouldn't cheat on someone you were in love with. Second of all people who cheat love the fact someone else "wants" them. For guys it is an ego boost (they bagged another one)
The affair is all about the cheater and nothing about the feelings of the cheated on.

people cheat on the people they suppose to love..
because... they dont have same feeling as they did then they started to go out on dates. Reason may vary..
one might be feels like something is missing on that person
two, lost interest on that person
three, having hard time understanding each other..
and there could be tons of reason..
Best way to deal with this problem is sit down and talk with your love one.. it might result breaking up or divorce, yet there might be chance that you will fully understand each other, and get back to way the relationship way it was..

There are no good reasons to cheat on the person you love. There are always a ton of excuses but I have never heard one that was good enough to justify hurting the one you love.

People cheat for a thousand different reasons, i'm sure.
Lack of excitement in their sex life, or no sex life at all.... No self control when it comes to meeting someone irresistable.... feelings that a person is unappreciated... looking for affection they aren't receiving at home... and the list goes on.
If you're not cheating, then don't worry about it.

They cheat because they have something they want or need, and are either unable or unwilling to try to get it from their spouse, or live without it if they still can't get it.
A lack of willpower and moral compass essentially. People can and do cheat on people they truly love. It's not right, of course.
