Islam is about as conservative as you can get when it comes to religion.

You cant compare Ramadan to Christmas because there opposites of two different religious groups.

Conservatives or at least the far right, are all Bible Thumpers and want the rest of the US to Believe. They are the opposites of the far right, who want wholesale abortion, promote gay rights, hand out condemns in schools.

Islam has no such, " close" association with either. Recheck your facts.

I believe you're refering to Islamic conservatives, which has always made me wonder. Why are American liberals so eager to surrender to Islamic conservatives when they seem to resent and despise them so much at home. You'd think that this effort in the middle east would be a prime opportunity for American liberals to fight conservatism and all it's evils...and yet they won't. Makes one wonder.

I guess it's just safer to fight conservatism here at home. Fight it out there, you just might get hurt.

The terms Conservative and Liberal are relative. One definition does not fit all countries or situations.

I seriously doubt that, unless you're referring to Islamic Conservatives.
