Yes, because the list is really short. Actually I'm hitting a blank right now, because most people I've ever known disappear when I'm having a rough time, and return when I am able to serve their needs. The only one I've ever been able to count on is God.

Absolutely! I will never forget all the individuals who have stepped up to assist me and my family. It would be impossible for me to forget what was done from generous and giving hearts. After living forty four years I have had several tragic circumstances where I have been assisted by family, friends, and people in my community. I appreciate and remember every single one of these kind folks who stepped up and helped out.
I also remember most of the kindness of others that I experiance on a daily basis. I may never know their names, or where they live, or associate with them further than that moment, but when a person I don't know smiles and says hello, is simply kind, I remember. I may not remember every single event, but the overall feeling of warmth that brings is never forgotten. Even the smallest guesture of kindness is remembered. I many not remember each individual event, but again, the overall feeling of warmth, of lifting my spirit when it was down, is remembered.
Overall, people are good. I am not naive enough to think all people are good, but in my experiance most are. It is also our responsibility to choose carefully with whom we wish to surround ourselves. We can be around those who use others and believe kindness is weakness to be exploited, rather than appreciated, and whom would never think for a moment to return a kindness, or we can surround ourselves with people who are kind, generous, sweet spirited individuals. It is up to us, as it is to appreciate those people in our lives, even for a moment, who aid us.
