If you look closely, most states do not have compulsory education laws...they have compulsory ATTENDANCE laws. They don't require that people actually learn...they require that they attend. That's one point you may want to make clear in your paper, no matter what angle you take on it.
Advantages:
More people have potential access to education
Levels the field for lower income families that in decades past may have opted to work instead of going to primary schools
Provides a sort of safety net for truly destitute children, and can provide some access to basic health and nutrition issues (i.e. hot lunch program, health screenings, etc.).
Provides a platform where technology can be introduced to people that may never get a chance otherwise.
Disadvantages:
Must usually be targeted at the median levels of education; this means that in order to provide education to the masses, it must, by definition, be presented at a level that meets the center of distribution...and that means mediocrity is the target.
Mass education has created textbook mills that control what is taught.
Children do not develop at exactly the same rate...because they are forced to use age as a primary category for placement, many children are placed out of their developmental stage. This is especially true for early education...is 5 the right age for every child? Probably not.
Compulsory attendace introduces government control at a very early age.
School Lunches...need I say more?
Good luck on your paper!

A computer is a machine that processes information and generally at a much faster pace than the human brain can process it. It can store information on its hard drive for later use or one a flash drive for portability. It can be used for students to complete homework, people can research for assignments and stay in touch with friends either through email or chat like MSN or Messenger. Disadvantages are that people are way to reliant on them and become lazy...obesity is on the increase and many people will talk to others via email but not face to face...if you get a virus it can destroy your work but if you use antivirus software that should help the worst thing is a power failure in the middle of an assignment due tomorrow :-)
