I really enjoyed FFXII (12). I thought the new battle system was amazing. The graphics are top-notch. I loved how any character could use any weapon, armor, or magick as long as you unlocked it on the License Board. I only wish there was more character development like in previous FF games. But in all, FFXII was an awesome gaming experience.
In response to your 2nd question, I used the official Bradygames Guide to help with getting the best weapons. I don't use cheating devices, so I can't help you with any Gameshark codes.

Most games even if they go in a series where they have games following the same story have some sort of introduction for new players. How ever Final Fantasy XIII is completely unrelated to all the other Final Fantasy games the only thing they have in common is the name the producers and the great quality. I highly recommend you get FFXIII when it comes out and even if you wanted to get FFXII or any of the others to get a feel for the series I'd highly recommend that too. My favourites have been FFX and FFVII.

Yea it was really fun game, actually still got to beat it. I was a bit confused at the new system, but once I got used to it, and set up my gambits, my characters were pretty much powerful and could do everything by themselves almost, with some magic support from whatever character I was using. Also the side quests of hunting are a lot of fun and can be challenging depending on what level you are, then there is the story which is really kind of moving. Overall a great game, comes in second to ff7 just because that game is classic.

It had the weakest storyline of the final fantasy seies. It fighting style was sluggish and dissapointed fans of the random battles which were one of the main things that i loved from the series. Graphics were average, but the biggest letdown was the plot. FF7 and FF10 and not to forget 8&9 were all epic storylines where you cared about the characters. Some people still cry when aeries dies in seven. In 10 the voices brought new depth to rpgs and kept people playing. My friend had 400hrs clocked up on 1 save. The most I had was 120, but its the most I've ever played a game.
