First pros and cons of funerals as opposed to what?
The pros...if the person was smart they will be going to a better place. They no longer suffer in the world we live in today. If there we old and sick they are probably glad to go.
The cons...The people left behind if they loved the person feel extreme remorse and loss.
Most family's now days keep in contact via email. This is one of the rare times they are together as a group/family unit. A time to reflect the passing of the other person.
I personally like cremation you can keep them with you always.
example: canine family members /no I'm not joking!

Pro: it allows the family and friends to say good bye one last time. through prayer, the soul of the person is lifted and we ask for their salvation.
cons: funerals are sad and heartbreaking.
