Not asking about plants, just animals? Plants are there for nourishment today, so are animals, but what if the animals are smarter than us, and say why eat something that can now think and eradicate you, but don't because we all live on the same planet?

I get where you are coming from with this Q.
They would come under the same heading as others.
You don't kill them, don't eat them , & don't make pets out of them.
I really hate to think what they would say to us humans if they did become totally sentient.

Frankly I think they already are sentient...we just can't understand them...lol And NO, I would never kill my Tony!...though if he got hungry enough, he just may chomp on ME! ;-)

Cows would be saying eat Chicken, Chickens would be saying, Eat Beef. Deer would be saying--I'm Bambi's Mom. Sheep would be saying Ewe won't eat me I'm tough. Horses would say I have worms don't eat me. Dogs and Cats and Monkeys would be running helter skelter in Thailand.
I would be eating squirrel, they speak Spanish so I couldn't understand them.

Killing food is not murder. If you feel bad about preparing food, then please feel free to slaughter vegetables instead.
What if vegetables could talk? Would you then eat meat?
