Not I. I have secured a great job, tax cuts, lots of wealth, and plentiful retirement under President Bush.l do not see many bad Bush decisions. Most decisions greatly help the American public.

America is already facing severe poverty. We have got to start looking out for our own before we can fix the world. I'm not saying don't help others but I don't understand why our own citizens are homeless and hungry while we tend to all the rest of the world. I could get up on my "Soap Box" on this one but will try to keep it short. There is absolutely no reason, or at the very least, no good reason that there is one person, most especially, child going to bed hungry. Even though President Bush is supposed to be our leader, he should not be the "fall guy" for this one. Each of us are responsible for making sure that we do what ever it takes to ensure that other fellow humans etc. have a full belly. There is an abundance in this country. Why in the world is it reserved for the ones with money. Food is one of the few necessities in life. Why are there people eating 5 course meals when some don't even have enough to eat every day? Food banks etc. are wonderful but obviously don't able to get the job done as we still have hungry people. In my opinion, if food were treated like fuel and therefore a shortage was claimed until there were no more hungry than people would start to help in anyway they could. I know that idea sounds crazy but the real insanity lies in the fact that we have hungry people in our little neck of the woods. I have a better idea than that. Let's turn all of the tobacco crops into crops that actually do good not harm. Thanks.
God's Speed and Grace,
Nancy

I equate the Bush spending like a 15 year old with a credit card. Spend like the world is ending and not one thought about how to repay the debt. Eventually we will have to pay for this war and pay for the tax cuts. At some point he will have to take accountability for this financial fiasco. My favorite example is the 363 TONS of cash sent to Iraq that disappeared into the night with no one taking responsibility for the loss. How do you lose 363 TONS.
My great grandchildren will be paying for the Bush spending spree. The decisions Bush made have cost America greatly and not just in money. Look at the lives lost because of his bad judgement and misinformation. We had the goodwill of the whole world after 9/11 but due to his stubborn inflexibility and refusal to listen, we have now the hatred of the world. He has made us into the most hated nation on earth second only to Nazi Germany. I hope there will be an America left by his last day in office.

I don't know about 'severe' poverty, but we are certainly in an economic downturn as a result of many of his policies. For instance, not protecting American industry, and allowing businesses to outsource has taken a huge hit on our working class.
We also suffer from the worst national debt in the history of America (we went from the biggest surplus in the late 90's to the worst debt in less than 5 years). The US dollar is now worth less than the Canadian dollar for the first time in history.
This is because of Bush's idea that we can spend more money and tax people less. This simply doesn't work, because we end up spending money we don't have, and getting into severe national debt - which significantly hurts our economy.
I don't care if your a democrat or a republican, you really need to recognize that our spending is completely out of control. This should be a huge issue in the next election, but it probably will fall by the wayside.

Hopefully, I'll be poor, but I will still have a free country to build back to abundance once again.
Bush did nothing to this country but to try to defend the people against terrorists coming from at least five different countries. These countries plan to bring America down economically. After 9/11, this economy took a downward spiral because she stood still for a few days and that stops any economy.
Don't worry about the economy. Worry about a Free Country.
As long as you have a free country, the economy will be taken care of by the American people. We have a God-given gift for creating and making money.

Actually I think the severe poverty will be brought about by someone like Hillary who has a lot of expensive plans for America. Remember the government does not make money they only take it and spend it many times with no accountability.
I believe that Billy Clinton did not want to address Social Security. Well that will have an effect. Clinton and all the Democrats think that money is magically made. They should get a real job for a while and see what it is like to be an average middle class American trying to make a living.

We are more than likely going to face hard times but not due to George Bush. We as a people have allowed China to become an economic superpower. We as a people have allowed the American left to make us look like snivelling cowards on the world stage. We Americans are not FORCING our elected officials to seal the borders. We Americans are the ones striking against the big three automakers when they are in financial dire straits as it is and thus improving the competitive edge of foriegn manufacturers. It is we the people with no spine, no resolve, no courage, no moral compass, no will power that are full of selfishness and ignorance about the troubles that the me, me,me attitude brings.
The other thing that will be a factor is all the people who have allowed themselves to buy into the BS that if you arent born wealthy you dont have a chance and that is just that, BS. People who try, sacrifice and give it their all do succeed most people are too busy blaming others though.

I don't think it will be because of the President , it will start when global warming hits certain parts of the world the hardest and all countries start hording there food for there own. With the droughts in the U.S. bad and getting worse its just a matter of time before we have a hard time growing what we need and if some other country wished they could stop importing to us which would lead to war for food and then even worse poverty. You can try and blame global waring on Bush for not being very environmental but its been coming since then dawn of the industrial revolution.

Bush's reckless and enormous spending for a senseless war is going to have to be paid back. His huge deficit and current request for billions of more US dollars is draining our economy. Yes, we will face bad times ahead because someone is going to have to clean up his mess. His companies prior to his presidency went bankrupt. He is not spending US dollars to help domestic issues on our own soil. The next presidency will have to raise taxes just to try to fix his mistakes. However, many people will be too stupid to realize our monetary problems arose because of his presidency when he is back getting drunk at the ranch.

I think the problem lies in the Americans instead of his policies. The US sub-mortage meltdown has shown that banks are targetting bankrupts and charging higher interests rates on the loan they gave to the bankrupts(becuz they are bankrupts). This may be a result of Bush's policy of open-lending the currency at free will as if it was never ending. However, even as the world's largest economy, finance is finite. You can't expect money to drop from the sky;you have to earn it.
2nd..., Americans are not saving enough; As the world's largest economy, only slight more than half of the wealth is in USA while the rest is in overseas accounts. What does this shows? This means higher costs for raw materials and this in turn affects US-based manufacturers. US products get expensive while the China powerhouses' products get cheaper(although it seems to be increasing as well because of high demand for raw material). So the average consumers would choose the cheaper ones, of course. Afterall, it is a matter of competition.
The saving problem is also another reason why protectionist sediments are building up among the Democrats like Hilary. They want to make sure that the US currency does not flow out. Instead, they want it to be circulated among US. IF PEOPLE CAN JUST KNOW HOW TO SAVE, then there is not need for this.
Bush is partly responsible because he likes to go to war. War is not possible without finance, AND America is going to pick up the pieces by itself on whatever it has smash. Maintanance costs trillons of dollars per year(Iraq+Nato). So he is also responsible for outflow of money.
At the same time, we are also selling arms, etc as a way to recoup the lost funds. But by doing it so comes at a price---instability. Any disturbence like Turkey-Iraq tension shoots oil prices up.
I would not term China as a threat at all. If you think it this way, if the US currency is 85% within America, inflation will prop. go down.(The reason why Central Banks raise interest rates is to discourage people from taking money from the banks, and hence, encourage circulation of money WITHIN US)
If you think it reversibly, If inflation is down, US manufacturers would be able to sell products more cheaply of same quality, and what does this mean? These manufacturers would sell these products within US AND also sell it to China, a 1.3 Billion Popn. This means money is earned from the Chinese side and money flows into US. This is probably why Bush allows China to join WTO in the first place, because he views them as long-time buyers of US products in the future.(He cannot keep them isolated for ever, eventually, they would join WTO.)IMO, it is too early I guess. The reason I can think of as to why US invited China so early onto the table is because US is trying to build a good and long-term strategic relationship.(Maybe it's a gamble?)
Sometimes, we are so obessed with short-term goals that we forget abt the long-terms ones.
