Who are the PKK?

The PKK claim to be socialists wanting a free Kurdistan, apparently inspired by the likes of Ernesto "che" Guevera.

Well that is quite far from the Truth the PKK are totalarian and they abuse their own members using threats and poverty as the main motivator for joining.

Their vision for a new kurdistan is where everyone is equal.

You would think they demonstrate this beleife in equality they profess in their manifesto.

Not true 80% of captured PKK militants reported un equality in the their ranks, where they had to obey command or else.

If they quite or simply left their family would be threatened and attacked this is also one way they get people to join.

Poverty like i said is a big motivator with the average
Kurdish family making around 70 US dollars a month what else is their to do?

The lands of Turkish Kurdistan are lawless land where the void of power is filled by the PKK who get their recruits from there.

If Turkey wants to get rid of this problem they have to get rid of the incetives for joining and the power these peopel have over the poor and desperate.

You are right Humanist, the USA and UK dont give a **** about other peoples lives the invasion of Iraq wasnt about protecting peoples lives it was about control oil and land.

Thats just how it is.

Al Qaeda is a group fueled by american and british crimes in Iraq and Afghanistan.

There is lots of fuel to keep these peopel going now because of what the US in particular has done as of late.

No, they are just of more use to the British and American governments. Apparently, they are "less evil" than the Iranian government and al-Qaeda operatives that PKK affiliates are currently waging war against. At the same time, it's obvious the US and UK inadvertantly allowed their puppet terrorists to attack a key ally in the region.

Anyone that labels the PKK as terrorist either doesn't have a clue what they are talking about or they have a hidden agenda because the PKK do not target civilians.

So, I guess that they are nicer than Al Qaida.

hmmm. well, i may get into trouble for this, but that's nothing new, having an opinion averse to others. and on this i'll offer no evidence, no links, nothing to back up my claims.

in the nineteen seventies (you remember the seventies, many of you were being born about then, i was just comin' outta vietnam) a man could literally hitchhike from london (or more appropriately from calais, france) to kuala lumpur, malaysia. that's right, thumb in the wind out on the road. might get edgy in places, but many did it. the trickiest part of such a trip was through kurdistan. you were advised not to stop, these folks made the turks seem pleasent and gracious. they were primative and wild. they were bandits.

of course all that was thirty or more years ago. a lot has happened in the meantime, i'm sure they have progressed somewhat. but 2,000 years of progress is a lot to stuff into three short decades. but what do i know? i'm just sayin... .

Kurds live in five different lands and have no nation to call their own. During WWI, Britain gave Kuwait, part of Iraq's territory to the Saba family of Jordan for helping fight the Turks. The Brits had no legal right to do that. The first Iraq War was partially fought over that. The US sectioned off Northern Iraq, former home of Eber's descendants or Hebrew people and gave this land to the Kurds! America had no legal right to do this!

The Taliban had a good organizational structure and Muslim nation. Women, for example, were chaste. America did away with all of that! America is a good country as we see, but it doesn't respect the rights and sovereignty of other free nations. It uses its CIA and government agents and spys to infiltrate foreign governments and to cause internal unrest in a number of nations. Saddam puts down US government inspired rebellions, we (USA) never reveals this fact and we make it look as if Saddam is the ugly ogre!

This is what the Iraq War is all about. Please see the following link.

Terrorism of any flavor cannot be weighed on who is nicer. Terrorism does not accomplish goals by being nice!!!

As for PKK, their goal is to take land of several countries and create a new socialist country... something Iraq, Iran, Syria and Turkey oppose. Naturally if you do not like where you live, you should be free to leave... but to create underground militias and wage a terror war because you aren't happy with your government, but since PKK is in an area of at least 4 neighboring countries, they aren't satisfied with any of the governments, and wish to claim the land as their own.

If they want to live in a socialist marxist state, there's plenty to chose from...

One thing people keep saying is there's no nice terrorist... the thing you have to keep in mind is one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter.

Could there be double agents within Al Qaeda, either working for the US, Israel or other places, yes, but I doubt there are many of them and they have to be very careful to prove themselves loyal to Al Qaeda. You know, you've probably seen spy shows or movies. I doubt if there are many double agents, but there could be some. Of course there could be double agents supposedly on our side, too. I doubt that Adam Gadahn is a double agent or anything, that would be too obvious.

PKK is a local gang. Al-Qaeda goes global.

It is not without reason that the Turkish military should remove the rebels in their hills. But can not come into Iraq w/out making a mess of our relations there. But with lives being lost more daily... Each life is precious. The soil your feet walk makes no difference.
